Recently, the software giant Google revealed Android's current operating system update, Android M, at Google I/O. Now the company has announced a list of devices that will get Android M updates by the end of of this year.
The Samsung Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Tab A, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Duos, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 4 Duos and Galaxy Note 4 will receive their Android M update by this year's end, according to YouMobile. It is believed that Google will add more tablets and handsets to this list in the forthcoming months.
The smartphone series which are confirmed to get Android M update by the year end have been released by the the Korean manufacturer Samsung within the past year. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Duos, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 were released in April of this year. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha and the Galaxy Note 4 and its variants were released back in September 2014.
It seems that the the mobile manufacturer Samsung is working backwards according to date of release in preparing the Android M smartphone update release schedule.
According to reports, Android M will be released in the third quarter of this year. Also, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 allegedly will not feature the Android M due to the timing of the software release being very near to the Note 5 release date, Softpedia reported. It is expected that the Galaxy Note 5 phablet will be announced at the forthcoming Berlin-based IFA conference in September.
