PornHub hopes to become successful in the space field like SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. Partnering with Digital Playground, a top ranking adult studio, the porn site will pioneer an activity called "Sexploration" or simply put as shooting sex tape in zero gravity.
With its plans to launch a campaign via crowdfunding to film an adult video in outer space for the first time ever, PornHub is seeking $3.4 million appeal via international crowdfunding website Indiegogo, according to Washington Post.
Currently, PornHub has raised just $5,000 out of its $3.4 million goal. The funds from crowdfunding will be used for getting shuttle transportation, training of the crew and porn stars, outfit for the space, consultation with specialists and customized video equipment. Along with that, the adult site will shoulder the other expenses.
PornHub is rooting for Eva Lovia and Johnny Sins to star in the first sextape exploration in space. The company plans to release the video in late 2016, given that the campaign will be successful.
On the other hand, PornHub admitted that shooting sex video in space is still an unexplored territory althought it is quite possible to happen.
Interested supporters and donors will get token of appreciation from PornHub by giving away props from the set and underwear of the protagonists, Engadget reported. Whoever donates $150,000 will get one of the two spacesuits with underwear worn by their sextronauts and a swag bag.
Adult filmmakers have been interested to explore erotic possibilities in space for a long time but it needs more innovation and planning although it is possible. Pornhub vice president Corey Price said that sexploration is an experiment that will chronicle how human intercourse works in zero gravity.
