Fans of the original "Ghostbusters" movies may be split in their reception of the reboot slated for 2016. However, it appears that "Aloha" star Emma Stone and Dan Aykroyd, one of the original Ghostbusters, see the reboot as a good one.
Aykroyd said that whoever was playing the roles of the new Ghostbusters, whether men or women, what mattered was the way that the roles were played and the overall interaction onscreen. From the looks of it, Aykroyd remarked that the dynamic among and within the cast was something to take note of, Spin Off reported.
Even though the new Ghostbusters are all girls now, the atmosphere that the original "Ghostbusters" movies introduced will not be entirely lost. According to Aykroyd, who played Dr. Peter Venkman in the original movies, there will be references to the two previous movies as they usher in the new all-female breed of Ghostbusters.
Stone, another celebrity fan of the movie, had previously declined a role in the reboot. However, she revealed that her decision was hinged on the fact that she may not be ready to take on a big project as the "Ghostbusters" reboot, which could easily turn into a franchise.
In fact, Stone claimed that the script was "funny," but felt that the brewing franchise is a commitment she is not able to make at the moment, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Currently, there is little known about the plot and how different it will be compared to the originals-besides the fact that the lead roles will be played by women. All that is known is that the women will try saving the world while also showing everyone that ghosts are real.
"Ghostbusters" reboot director Paul Feig also took to Twitter to give a teaser to the set of the movie. He posted a photo that teases the slime that will be used in the movie and the fact that shooting has already started. The reboot stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth.
