NFL observers are awaiting what position the 6-foot-5 and 235 pound quarterback Terrelle Pryor will eventually play next after being waived by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Pryor had declared that there is no other position than quarterback that he is willing to play.
But the waiver prompted Pryor to changed his stand and said he wants a to try being a wide receiver, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.
The NFL.com said that with his 4.40 wheels and rare athleticism, Pryor is more suited to be a tight end than a wde receiver.
However, observers wonder how Pryor can survive learning a new position while playing in the NFL, where the highest level of football is played.
With the Bengals, Pryor was just the third or fourth quarterback on the depth chart.
The top two spots clearly belong to Josh Johnson and AJ McCarron and Pryor was hardly getting reps.
Furthermore, the Bengals haven't kept a third quarterback on the active roster since Andy Dalton was taken in the 2nd round of the 2011 draft.
Pryor was hoping that Hue Jackson, who coached him in Oakland and who is now the Bengals offensive coordinator, could better his chances of earning a roster spot.
There were talks that Jackson persuaded the Bengals to sign Pryor.
Jackson commented during the minicamp that Pryor had grown much and has become more mature since his college days and hopes that he gets rewarded for his hard work.
There were also suggestions that with the versatility of the Bengals draft picks, Jake Fisher and Cedric Ogbuehi, two guys who can play guard and tackle, the Bengals could elect to go with one less lineman.
That would have opened a spot for a third quarterback on the team.
The 25-year-old Pryor was signed to a one-year deal for $660,000 by the Bengals on May 10 after an impressing in the rookie minicamp.
