"Iron Man" fans will not be pleased to know that the film's release will be delayed. Now, some of them are speculating that this may have something to do with Robert Downey Jr's desire to get a higher pay.

According to VCPost, "Iron Man 4" will start its production after the filming for the two-part "Infinity Wars" movies concludes. The film is slated to hit theaters in the United States in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

Meanwhile, according to Master Herald, Downey Jr. has been seeking a much higher pay compared to what he previously received from "Iron Man 3" and the first "Avengers" film.

According to the publication, the actor received a whopping $50 million for his appearance in all of the Marvel/Sony films. However, since he will be starring as the lead actor in "Iron Man 4," Downey Jr. wants to receive more than $50 million.

There are also speculations that the actor is seeking higher pay because he believes he has become one of the most popular and most sought-after actors in Hollywood today. In 2013 and 2014, he was named as the highest grossing actor. In those two years, he reportedly earned $75 milion.

With Downey Jr's latest demands, fans are now wondering whether or not Marvel and Sony will continue to hire him for the sequel. Some fans are suggesting that the fourth "Iron Man" film may also have a new lead star considering Downey Jr's age. There are also rumors that "Iron Man 3" star Ty Simpkins, who played the role of Harley Keener, may eventually play the part.
