Graduation season is not just about receiving degrees but also celebrating the end of school days. A growing trend among Chinese students is to take a trip, with many going abroad. A survey of new graduates by the China University Media Union found that 68 percent spend 4,000 yuan ($640) on celebrations, and travel accounts for 57.14 percent of expenses.
Travel can be expensive but is also so rewarding. Here are some ways to make special journeys even more memorable:
1. Bungee jumping. Increasing numbers of people around the world are including thrilling activities in their trips. Bungee jumping is one of the most exciting and sweaty palm-inducing sports.
2. Fly in a hot air balloon. Floating thousands of feet above ground, spectacular landscapes come into sight. Cappadocia in Turkey is widely recognized as the best place on earth for hot tours.
3. Desert Safari. Dubai offers a unique opportunity to experience the beautiful desert. It is pleasant and adventurous to glide up and down high and low golden sand dunes.
4. Have some childlike fun. Ready to graduate from school but still a child at heart? When you unleash your inner-child you will find that having a good time while traveling is easy, for example when you lose yourself at Disneyland.
5. See romantic lavender fields in France. If you are seeking a romantic getaway, France may already be your top choice but do not miss out the lavender fields of Provence, which are best viewed in summer.
6. Enjoy poetic countryside. Staying in beautiful countryside might be just right for people who prefer a quiet vacation. Find a picturesque and less-traveled place, like Italy’s Tuscany, to enjoy its rich culture and amazing history.
7. Have a jungle experience in China's Hainan. People don't usually think of rainforests when considering China but there is one in the southernmost province of Hainan – the Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone, just 35 kilometers north of Sanya. The scenic spot offers a unique experience including walking among tropical flora, climbing waterfalls and flying on a zip line through the forest.
8. Trekking in nature. After years of poring into books, you would definitely enjoy clearing your mind within the relaxing embrace of nature. Gather your friends and go high up the mountains so you can look down and appreciate your value, your life.
