Meizu MX5, the flagship smartphone from one of the rising smartphone brands from China, has been officially announced in Beijing, China on June 30, Tuesday. In 2014, it had launched the MX4, MX4 Pro and M1 Note. In this year, Meizu has recently unleashed the M2 Note and now it has revealed the MX5.
The chassis of the Meizu MX5 is completely made up of metal. The thickness of the device is 7.6 mm and it weighs 149 mm. It features a physical mTouch home button below the screen that also functions as a fingerprint scanner, Android Headlines reported.
The Meizu MX5 houses a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display screen that supports full HD resolution. It offers a pixel density of 401 ppi. It is powered by MediaTek MT6795 chipset that is supported by 3 GB of RAM.
The MT6795 SoC, also referred to as Helio X10, features a 64-bit octa-core processor and PowerVR G6200 graphics. The chipset can deliver a clocking speed of 2.2 GHz, Phone Arena reported.
The MX5 comes in different internal storage versions such as 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. It features a 20.7 MP camera along with dual-tone LED flash on its rear and it comes with a innovative Laser Autofocus feature. The front-facing selfie shooter is of 5 MP.
The Meizu MX5 will be shipped with Android 5.0 Lollipop overlaid with Flyme 4.5 UI software. The Meizu MX5 comes with support for dual SIM cards and 4G LTE. The MX5 comes with a 3,150 mAh battery that is equipped mCharge technology which allows the battery up to 50 percent in just 20 minutes.
As far as the pricing is concerned, the 16 GB model carries a price tag of 1800 Yuan ($290). The 32 GB model will cost 1999 Yuan ($322) and the 64 GB variant will be available for 2399 Yuan ($387). The handset will be available in gold color and two different shades of gray.
