The Duggar family of "19 Kids And Counting" fame is likely to face a civil lawsuit from the non-Duggar victim of sexual abuse done by Josh Duggar, the family's eldest child.
The non-Duggar victim is gearing up to file a civil suit against the former reality star in Arkansas since the statute of limitations for criminal charges has run out, Fox News reported. Arkansas attorney Robert Cossio explained that the statute of limitation runs out when the child reaches the age of 18.
However, the victim can file civil lawsuit if she begins to experience the effects of the sexual abuse at a later date. If the court grants the civil lawsuit, Duggar family, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their kids, will be required to answer every question asked in reference to Josh's molestation scandal.
The couple will have to reveal how they deal with the situation and what they did to cover up the matter. They will also be required to answer what type of safeguards they put in place in 2002, after first being alerted to Josh molesting female minors in and outside the family.
"All the church elders who knew about this will have to be named," a source told InTouch.
Back in May, the news broke out that Josh had sexually abused five females, including four sisters and a family friend's daughter in their sleep, back in 2002 and 2003. The 25-year-old was in his teens when the incident happened.
The Duggar couple and the two of the five victims, Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard, have spoken openly about the incident, saying that it was blown out of proportion by the media, who also exposed the victims' identities.
Meanwhile, the fate of the TLC reality show, "19 Kids And Counting," is still undecided. The show has been pulled from its regular rotation and it is still not confirmed whether it will return or not.
