Motorola recently announced that it will offer a permanent price cut to its flagship Android Wear device, the Moto 360. This will lower the Moto 360's price to $149. Additionally, rumors also claim that Google is planning to release an update to the Android Wear operating system on July 28.
Motorola also offered the same discount in May, however it was only for a limited time and lasted until early June.
According to Tech Times, the Moto 360 is one of the best smart wearable device currently available in the market. It is also one of the most popular. Compared to the Apple Watch, the Moto 360's sleek design closely resembles that of a classic timepiece.
On the other hand, many tech analysts speculate that the recent Moto 360 price cut suggests that Motorola is gearing up to release a second-generation model of the device. It is important to note that Motorola has a habit of cutting down the price of its most current devices in order to make room for new and upcoming models.
Rumors claim that the Moto 360 2 will be released in September and will have an upgraded display.
Additionally, there are rumors suggesting that Google is also gearing up to release an update for the Android Wear operating system before the end of July. Android Wear received its last major update in April. If this rumor is true, the upcoming second-generation Moto 360 will no doubt run on the updated Android Wear operating system.
Android enthusiast Derek Ross posted on his Google+ account, "July 28th seems like a good day for an Android Wear update. How about you guys?"
