The legendary "Stone Cold" Steve Austin may no longer be participating in the ring, but WWE and video game fans can still see him wreak havoc in the ring-at least in the video game world.
"WWE 2K16" developer 2K Games has announced that Austin will grace the cover of the game as a cover Superstar.
Austin himself has been very excited to be part of the "WWE 2K16." Considering that his retirement was way back in 2003, Austin is still part of the roster that boasts more than 100 playable characters from the different names and faces that graced WWE.
The pro wrestler revealed that he was happy but also humbled by when he learned the fact. Austin shared that he did not expect this, given how long he has been away from the wrestling scene, WWE.com reported.
"To get that phone call and be on the cover of what is going to be the biggest, baddest video game that there's ever been, with the roster and all the technology, and to be out of the ring for so many years meant a whole lot to me," said Austin to WWE.com.
2K Games has also showcased the latest teaser trailer for "WWE 2K16" during the Monday Night RAW, WrestleZone reported. The trailer, which is now available for viewing below, shows Austin in what appears to be cinematic trailer, showing Austin digging for his championship belt. Excited fans can also check out the teaser cover art for "WWE 2K16" at the end.
"WWE 2K15" saw John Cena on the cover, while 2014 had been the year for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. 2K Games has yet to reveal the entire roster of players, but there will be more than enough time before the release date on Oct. 27 in North America and Oct. 30 in other territories.
