The production and crews of the world's biggest grossing film of all time, "Avatar," were shocked by the sad news as the Academy award-winning James Horner, who shares the success of the world's biggest films "Titanic" and "Avatar", died in a plane crash in California last week.
Director James Cameron and Co-producer Jon Landau both share sentiments on Horner's untimely death. They said they lost not only a great team mate and collaborator but also a dear friend. Cameron and Landau both still cannot believe and still shocked about Horner's death, Master Herald reported.
Horner won three Grammy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards for the soundtrack "My Heart Will Go On," of the groundbreaking movie "Titanic" which marked the first time in ten years that Horner worked with Director Cameron.
Horner's death will not affect the Avatar 2's release date in December 2017. The 20th Century Fox production did not announce exactly the date of the most awaited film. The production's CEO Jim Gianopulos said he is just looking for the perfect window on Christmas season for "Avatar 2."
According to Ecumenical News, late Horner previously said that most of "Avatar 2" scenes will take place underwater which is completely different to the sequel. Original cast is still onboard as Zoe Saldana said that she still does not know when the filming will start. Sam Worthington as lead actor said he is ready and already knew about underwater filming training.
"Avatar" was released in 2009. This gives enough time to producer, director and writer James Cameron to put all the best pieces together before "Avatar 2" hits cinema in 2017.
