"Grey's Anatomy" alum Patrick Dempsey has taken to Twitter on July 8, Thursday, to pay tribute to his "Can't Buy Me Love" so-star Amanda Peterson, who was found dead in her home in Greeley, Colo., on July 5, Sunday.
"In my memory, she will always be vibrant and young. Gone too soon. Sending my thoughts and prayers to Amanda's family," tweeted Dempsey, who came in second at the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours in France on June 14, People reported.
In 1987, Dempsey and Peterson co-starred in the romantic comedy "Can't Buy Me Love," which was directed by Steve Rash and also starred Courtney Gains, Seth Green, Devin DeVasquez, Darcy DeMoss, Sharon Farrell, Cort McCown and Eric Bruskotter, among others.
In 1994, Peterson left the entertainment industry and had been living in Colorado for years. The last film she starred in was the 1994 film "Windrunner," which starred Jason Wiles, Russell Means and Margot Kidder, among others.
Peterson's father James Hill Peterson told TMZ the family became concerned after they had not heard from the 43-year-old actress since July 3. He said they still do not know the official cause of death but noted that his daughter "had some illness and a sleep apnea problem that may have contributed."
In addition, the father told the publication that the late actress had been living in a home with mold problems but she already moved out almost a year ago. She also reportedly dropped out around 2010 after going back to school some years ago and had been trying to make it as an author.
