After nearly 5 years since its announcement at the 2010 Comic Con panel, the much awaited “Tekken X Street Fighter” release date seems to be approaching soon, as game producer Katsuhiro Harada reveals that the game is far into its development.
“That’s not true! I’ve been saying this since before, but the fact of the matter is that we’re at a pretty far stage into its development,” Harada said in response to Famitsu's question of whether Bandai Namco has forgotten “Tekken x Street Fighter.”
Harada also added that the developers are wrapping up work on few aspects of the game with character lineup decided a very long time ago. The team has also finished work on polygon models, moves and systems, SiliconEra reported.
The producer continued to explain that the “Tekken X Street Fighter” release date has been a major problem that the developers face, since it has to be launched at the right time. He elaborated the team needs some sort of surprise to catch the fans interest, but stopped short of revealing any further details about the game.
It seems like Bandai Namco is waiting for a good release time for the “Tekken X Street Fighter” launch. The game has been kept under the wraps for nearly half a decade and still there is no final release time frame. Nevertheless, the game is expected to pack a lot of surprises, with Harada hinting that the developers are playing around with many different ideas, which will make it worth the wait.
Rumor has it that the game will be released only after “Tekken 7.” However, there is no official word from the developer about “Tekken X Street Fighter” release as of now.
