It was an awkward moment for "Southpaw" star Jake Gyllenhaal on the morning episode of "Good Morning America." His introduction was supported by a background score of his former lover Taylor Swift's track, "Bad Blood," on the episode that aired on July 20, Monday.
The 34-year-old actor was on the show to promote his new boxing flick, "Southpaw," which is set to hit the theatres on July 24, Friday. When host Robin Roberts started introducing the actor after returning from a commercial break, Swift's popular track started playing in the background. Although the track fizzled out later, the actor was seen with a slight smirk on the face in one of the shots.
Fans of the actor immediately took to Twitter to point out that the track was played to shade the actor, owing to his brief fling with the singer.
"Um @GMA? Maybe playing "Bad Blood" as you intro Jake Gyllenhaal isn't such a cool thing, seeing as how it's sung by his ex. Just a thought," tweeted one fan.
Later, the show's representative denied the accusations, saying that playing Swift's number while Gyllenhaal was on the show was not a move to embarrass him and it was a complete co-incidence, Gossip Cop reported.
Although neither of the stars has ever confirmed the rumor, Swift and Gyllenhaal are known to have briefly dated in fall 2010 before breaking up around New Year's 2011. It is also rumored that the 25-year-old singer wrote the lyrics of her 2012 hit song, "All Too Well," in dedication to her failed romance, E! News reported.
