Apple recently rolled out iOS 9 beta 2, a new firmware for public testing that gives users a preview of what to expect from the upcoming iOS 9 update. With it came bug fixes, an improvement in speed and new features for testing before the full version's release this autumn.
According to Tech Times, Apple released the second version of iOS 9 public beta for testing, making sure all the updates work well before the official iOS 9 release. In addition, beta 2 included support for the new iPod Touch released earlier in July, which means iPod users can now install and try iOS 9 beta.
For iPad users, Picture in Picture multitasking feature was added, allowing users to use more than one app while watching videos in Podcasts.
Apple also fixed a number of bugs with beta 2, PC Mag reported. For one, it brought back the use of volume buttons as a camera shutter, making the iOS camera more accessible to selfie lovers.
Beta 2 also brought back Home Sharing, which was removed in iOS 8.4. Home Sharing allows users to access their iTunes Library from a family member's device with a Wi-Fi.
For those who use Apple Pay, the app is now accessible from the home button with a double click. But first, a feature in the Settings must be turned off.
Users can upgrade their existing iOS 9 beta by opening Settings, deleting the existing iOS 9 profile and installing beta 2. Those who would like to wait for the final updates could wait until fall for the official release.
