In their interview with NPR on "Vacation," Goldstein said that they were thrilled while Daley described Peter Parker as a clever and amusing youngster, amidst of being an "outcast" and a "geek." The scriptwriters view such traits as "safety net," allowing them to connect with the character's thoughts, emotions, and overall personality.
