In an attempt to keep fans in the loop of the development of "Halo 5: Guardians," developer 343 Industries is rolling out developer blogs that reveal some new insights and info on the game. The first dev blog sheds some light on the decisions made behind the co-op campaign.
A major change in "Halo 5: Guardians" is the prominence and promise that it has given the co-op campaign. Veering away from the usual single-player campaign as the main focus, 343 Industries revealed via Halo Waypoint that it will now be pushing co-op as a more fundamental part of the game.
"While you can still expect the same great single-player experience that Halo campaigns have been known for, engaging in co-operative play gives the campaign a new level of depth and richness," said 343 Industries in the blog.
More than an immersive experience, going from solo to co-op is also more fluid. This allows players to control a member of the Fireteam and unlock achievements and other items. Even better is the fact that player dropouts will not affect gameplay. If a player drops out, an AI will replace him in the co-op so the team can continue and move forward.
This is also another level of single-player campaign. Players can actually still play the co-op even as a single player due to the Fireteam AI as they will be taking over the other three team members.
As if the appeal of "Halo 5: Guardians" is not enough, another retailer has revealed its upcoming bonus freebies with the game, Attack of the Fanboy reported. New Zealand's Mighty Ape online retailer is offering a 6-inch Spartan figurine and a "Halo 5: Guardians" poster.
There is a sample image of the action figure, which shows a Spartan soldier decked in blue. However, the image for the poster is still a placeholder art from one of the official shots of the game.
The preorder price for the "Halo 5: Guardians" and its freebies is at $95, which is already discounted compared to the usual $110 in other retailers.
