Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have insisted that their star midfielder, Mario Götze, is not up for sale after speculations of a possible transfer to Juventus emerged in recent weeks, as per ESPN.
Der FCB CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed the German club's resolve to keep the 23-year-old Germany international to their side, saying that every player deserves another chance.
"We have not put any players in the shopping window. That also goes for Mario Gotze," said Rummenigge as reported by Goal. "Every player deserves a second chance. Mario will get another chance as well and he has our full support."
The 5-foot-9 Memmingen native, who allegedly had lackluster seasons with Bayern since 2013, is reportedly eyed by Premier League clubs as well, such as Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal.
However, he had a hard time finding a consistent spot in the first team, which led to a lot of rumored quarrels with Die Roten manager Pep Guardiola.
Volker Struth, Götze's agent, accused Guardiola of "destroying" his client's career by not giving him enough playing time and chances on the field to show his true potential.
Götze's goal scoring numbers have actually been decent the past two years with 15 goals in 44 appearances in 2013-2014 and 15 of 48 last season overall.
Bayern recently acquired Juve's star midfielder, Chile international Arturo Vidal, for £28 million and speculations arose that Götze would further go down the pecking order in Allianz Arena. There were even reports that it would be a direct swap between the two midfielders, but the Reds' payment was enough proof that the stories were false.
Götze has two years left in his contract with the Bavarians and he is said to be looking forward to completing it with Bayern.
