It is clear that Manchester United will not get Sergio Ramos after Real Madrid's defender sealed his new deal with the Los Blancos.
There have been speculations that United was eyeing Ramos to add to its Old Trafford lineup in preparation for the next season that begins in August, BBC Sports reported. The move to acquire Ramos came after Manchester United boss, Louis van Gaal, saw a loophole in the club's defensive lineup: his contribution could propel the club back to the top in the next English Premier League.
There have been rumors on how expensive Madrid allegedly wanted to gain from the transfer of Ramos and Manchester United has been excited to express their intention to get the defender. Discussions of a likely agreement involving Madrid target, David de Gea, have as well been evident in the exchange between the teams in addition to the extra money for United so as both teams could reach a consensus. Unfortunately, there are many claims that Ramos will stay with his current club.
According to Ecumenical News, Tom Conn unveiled the details of the agreement between Ramos and Real Madrid. He indicated that Sergio and his brother, Rene, talked to Jose Angel Sanchez that Sergio's desire was to retire with the club, an explanation that they restated to Florentino Perez.
After the dialogue, Florentino apologized for the earlier misunderstanding when he declined Ramos' wage demand and agreed to renew his contract.
However, there are still hopes for United because they are trying to sign Pedro from Barcelona. There are rumors that Pedro wants to play more for the Catalans, which is unfortunate considering the line-up involving Suarez, Messi, and Neymar - Pedro always feels out of place.
