Samsung is reportedly launching the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus early because of the likely September release of Apple's iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.
It is now official that Samsung will carry out the launching event on Aug. 13 to compete against Apple's anticipated new devices that will come in September, PC World reported.
Initially, the company disapproved all its skeptics when it launched the precursor Galaxy Note at IFA in Berlin, Germany, in 2011and the tech giant has relied on the same venue to unveil its most recent and best Galaxy Note phablets. In 2012, the firm launched its second generation Note 2, prior to the arrival of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 at IFA in 2013, and last year's event at the venue served to unleash Note 4 and Note Edge.
According to Tech Times, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge was the predecessor to the firm's latest curved dual-edge screen smartphone, Galaxy S6 Edge. The phone will be super-sized and released together with the Galaxy Note 5 in the company's flagship 2015 phablet list.
There are already photo leakages of the Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus and reports from Tech Times in mid-June show that Samsung may end its convention of launching the next generation Galaxy Note at the same venue in Berlin. On the contrary, Samsung may launch and unveil the phablets beforehand so that it may not face stiff competition from Apple's iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.
The speculations turned out to be true, and the firm has eventually confirmed that it will be having the launch on Aug. 13. The news came out on the company's Twitter account after which the firm developed a devoted Save The Date page for live streaming of the event.
