Brad Bird recently confirmed that Pixar is finally working on “The Incredibles 2,” 11 years since the first film came out. The sequel will reportedly follow Jack-Jack’s adventure, as well as Violet and Dash as they try to take over the family’s crime-fighting business.
According to Crossmap, Helen and Bob wanted to retire from being a superhero. The couple will reportedly groom their children Violet and Dash to finish what they started.
They will also try to win their brother Jack-Jack back who turned into a villain, as he was not able to control his powers. It was said that Syndrome will use the youngest hero for his evil plans and ultimately turn him against his family.
In the first film, it was Jack-Jack who saved his family from Syndrome in the last minute. The sequel, however, will show a different and darker side of Jack-Jack. He reportedly grew up to be Syndrome's apprentice as the villain took advantage of his weakness.
Pixar has yet to release an official date for "The Incredibles 2." As Christian Today speculates, the movie will premiere late 2017 or early 2018. Bird shared that they were not in a rush to finish the sequel, adding that they were not only doing it for the money.
The director said that they have yet to finish crafting a better story than the film's predecessor. He also mentioned that Pixar has developed a relationship with their audience. He pointed out that did not want to disappoint those who have waited more than a decade for the sequel.
