Jace Alexander, best known for directing TV series "Law And Order," has been taken in custody on July 29, Wednesday, on the charges of possessing and disseminating videos of child pornography.
The 51-year-old, who is the only son of the famous yesteryear star, "The Great White Hope" actress Jane Alexander, is accused of promoting a video, which shows an underage girl stripping and indulging in a sexual act, by making it available on the Torrent.
DA's High Technology Crime Bureau's investigator Andrew Garcia told New York Post that a video file, depicting a 6- to 8-year-old girl performing a sexual act on herself, has also been obtained from his computer.
The matter came into light when police started investigating a Torrent child porn video and traced it to an IP address that originated from the director's home in Westchester County, New York. On further investigation, several files of child porn were found in his possession.
Being held on $10,000 bail, Jace is charged with one count of promoting a sexual performance by a child and one count of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child. He is scheduled to appear in Dobbs Ferry Court on Nov. 19. He faces up to seven years in state prison, if the charges are proved.
Jace has directed more than 30 episodes of "Law & Order" and 18 episodes of "Rescue Me." He has also worked as an actor, starring in "City Of Hope," "Eight Men Out, and "Corocodil Dundee 2," Daily Mail reported. Married to the actress Maddie Corman, he was recently elected as second vice-president of the Directors Guild of America.
