Arsenal FC enthusiasts should be ready for both good and bad news speculations associating the Gunners to different players from the German Bundesliga.
In a move to regain the English Premier League title and probably get the UEFA Champions League title next season, Arsenal is working hard to strengthen the lineup through the addition of reputable players on the roster, Ecumenical News reported.
Initially, the team was associated with Borussia Dortmund player, Marco Reus - a star who received much attention from other teams as well. Many EPL teams were after Reus with Liverpool FC being the "hottest" team for the deal.
If recent speculations were true, the Gunners' desire to acquire Reus would have to be on a hold for longer because the star has seemingly decided to stay with his current club.
"We read the speculations that are moving around concerning a reported transfer of Marco, but we can affirm that the player is enjoying his time at Dortmund," the agency dealing with Reus released said. "He is fascinated by the interest of many EPL teams but has currently chosen to remain with Dortmund."
The information is disillusioning for the Gunners but if there is something to put into consideration is that Reus has not always been fit among the players. In the past Bundesliga season, the star only played 20 matches because of the constant injuries.
The Gunners are used to injured strikers, with players like Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott both failing to play crucial matches because of knocks, The New York Times reported. Adding Reus to remain on the bench because of injuries would be a waste of resources.
Reportedly, there are reestablished links between Arsenal and Schalke 04 star, Julian Draxler, after first discussions between Schalke and Juventus failed to yield fruits. At a personal level, Draxler and Juventus have had a deal for a possible transfer, but Schalke 04 is not ready to let him go at £15.6 million offered by Juventus, forcing a stop on the transfer.
The deal could go in favor of Arsenal, believed to have enough money that can attract the German starlet.
