The much awaited “Supernatural” Season 11, will more likely see Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) dealing with the consequences of killing Death (Julian Richings), possibly by taking over the position of Death in the universe.
Jeremy Carver, the show’s executive producer, has teased that the demise of Death will result in consequences “to a certain extent,” which the fans will get to see just as the season starts.
“There will be repercussions to a certain extent — and probably in the first batch of episodes, we’ll start to address that,” Carver told TV Line. “You can imagine that it causes some issues.”
Given that Dean was the reason for the Death’s demise, the Winchester brother become the next Death is more likely possible. However, there is no official information about if or not Dean will take over Death’s position.
The upcoming season will have the Winchester brothers not just dealing with the consequences of killing Death, but also the battle against The Darkness, a pre-biblical evil that was defeated by God and the archangels and locked with the Mark of Cain. The Darkness is said to be a tale of “Angel bedtime stories,” which the angels and even Castiel thought to be a myth.
As for the character of Castiel (Misha Collins), he will be more likely be dealing with the Rowena’s spell, as the season will pick up right after the events of the Season 10 finale. Collins also revealed at the Comic Con this year that Dean and Castiel will be united in this season, putting aside their differences, to fight against the common enemy, the Big Bad.
“I think that they are aware that the presence of The Darkness is actually their fault and they have to clean up the mess that they have made,” Collins told Pop Sugar.
In other news, actress Emily Swallow from “The Mentalist,” will be joining the cast of the “Supernatural” Season 11, in the recurring role of Amara. There is no other information about the character Amara as of now.
