The USA network series "Royal Pains" may be cancelled after season 8. The show may have been picked up for two eight-episode seasons in 2014 but the producers are reportedly already planning about the series finale.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunners Michael Rauch and Andrew Lenchewksi explained that they wanted to give fans an unforgettable series finale. When it was announced that "Royal Pains" will only have eight episodes for both season 7 and 8, Lenchewksi shared that they have come to terms with likelihood that the series is going to get cancelled soon.
The co-creator added that they wanted to treat season 8 as the final episode, saying that it will be best if they come prepared. Lenchewksi said that they wanted to give each of the cast the proper ending they deserve.
Although they were disheartened that the series is coming to an end, the producers said that they remained grateful to the USA network for giving them the opportunity to continue for 16 more episodes. Lenchewksi shared that they always had a vision of how Hank (Mark Feurstein), Evan (Paulo Costanzo), Paige (Brooke D'Orsay), Divya (Reshma Shetty) and Boris' (Campbell Scott) story will end. He added that they could not wait for the fans to see the series finale.
Meanwhile, according to Carter Matt, Ben Shenkman will reprise his role as Dr. Jeremiah Sacani in the coming episodes. The publication speculated that both Hank and Jeremiah will finally find love in season 8. Although fans saw Raj (Rupak Ginn) propose to Divya in the season finale, many still hope that she will end up with Jeremiah.
