There are several reasons why purchasing the newest Galaxy Note 5 phablet will not be a wise decision.
The Samung Galaxy Note 5 is slated to get announced officially today. However, most of its specs have been already revealed. Hence, the rumor mill claims there are 5 reasons smartphone users may be disinterested in purchasing it.
1. Exynos 7420 Chip
The Galaxy Note 5 is powered by Exynos 7420 chip. Undoubtedly, the Exynos 7420 chipset that powers the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 is a well-performing SoC. However, the rumor mill was expecting that it will come with an improved Exynos 7422 chipset.
There are numerous Snapdragon 810 powered smartphones such Moto X Style, LG G4 and HTC One M9 that are capable of churning out topnotch performance. In the near future, Snapdragon 820 powered smartphones will arrive that will be able to deliver a performance of 3 GHz, Phone Arena reported.
Some of the smartphones that will feature the Snapdragon 820 include the Galaxy S7, LG G4 Pro, and HTC Aero. When these smartphones will arrive, the Galaxy Note 5 may not be powerful enough to rival them.
2. No MicroSD Card
The Galaxy Note 5 will mimic the appearance of the Galaxy S6 as it is expected to arrive with metal and glass combination body. Hence, the Galaxy Note 5 will be featuring a microSD slot.
3. Non-removable Battery
The new chassis of the Note 5 will not allow users to swap its battery conveniently as it is expected to feature a non-removable battery. Its owners will not have the convenience of replacing an exhausting batter with a fully charged one.
4. Smaller Battery
The Galaxy Note 5 is equipped with a battery of 3,000 mAh capacity, NDTV reported. Its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 4 is equipped with a larger battery of 3,220 mAh capacity.
5. Expensive Price Tag
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is premium phablet. Hence, it will be coming with an expensive price tag of over $699 off-contract. Its on-contract price is predicted as $299.
However, there are many cheaper alternatives tin the market. The Moto X Style that I priced at $399 off-contract features a microSD card, 3,000 mAh replaceable battery, and water resistant construction and Snapdragon 808 chip.
Priced less than $600, the LG G4 also features microSD slot, 3000 mAh removable battery, and premium appeal. Even the OnePlus 2 is a low-priced alternative for the Note 5.
