The 5.1.1 Lollipop is the latest version of the Android OS. Samsung and its carriers are gradually rolling out the update for its users.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+ have been launched with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop onboard. Both the handsets are likely to receive forthcoming Android M early after its official launch. However, there are still many Samsung flagships that are yet to receive Android 5.1.1 and Android 5.1 updates.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users on Sprint have already updated their devices to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop at the start of this month, the International Business Times reported. It also includes the Stagefright security fix. As of this writing, there is no update on the availability of 5.1.1 Lollipop from other U.S. carriers.
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
Verizon and T-Mobile have released Stagefright fix for their Galaxy Note Edge users. However, both the carriers haven't released the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and Android 5.1 Lollipop. However, a Canadian carrier has already disclosed that Galaxy Note Edge users will receive Android 5.1.1 in this month.
Samsung Galaxy S5
T-Mobile has released the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update along with Stagefright fix for its Galaxy S5 users, Android Central reported. However, other U.S. carriers are yet to release the update for their subscribers.
Since the Android M update is nearing, rumors are rife that Samsung may not release the Android 5.1 or Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update in order to directly release Android M OS update. Except for T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular no other U.S. carrier has released Android 5.1.1 for the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge
