Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC One M8 and HTC One M9 is waited by eager fans to update their devices.
Custom ROM of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is available to HTC One M8 and HTC One M9 as the official version of the OS upgrade was not released yet. Thus, users must root their smart phones and then install the latest Android operating system.
Other HTC models under carriers such as Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T received the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 upgrade last month, with Verizon still struggling to provide it for its customers.
It is also reported that the HTC One M9 and the HTC One M9+ users will get a straight jump to Android M, according to a tweet by Jeff Gordon who is an employee of the Senior Global Online Communications. Android M is expected to hit the shelves in October this year. For users who want to give the current version of the OS a go, a custom ROM is also available.
On the other hand, Product and Service director of EMEA, Garaham Wheeler tweeted that the HTC One M9 users present in Middle East, European countries and Africa will receive Android 5.1 Lollipop soon.
For the Samsung devices, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S5 are currently lined up to get the Android 5.1.1 upgrade those under the carriers - Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. The upgrade will be rolled out as an over-the-air upgrade. It should be completed for all the models of these devices within August this year.
As for the users of Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge, they still need to wait to get the upgrade in their devices. The upgrade is still on hold and awaiting approval for these devices. There is no official date for the release of the upgrade for these two devices yet.
