Madonna has competition in the 50 plus age group when it comes to body-baring photoshoots. "Basic Instinct" actress Sharon Stone shows that at 57, she can give much younger women competition when it comes to nude photoshoots.
Stone graces the September issue of Harper's Bazaar with black-and-white photos that showcase her toned body that defies the years without revealing too much private parts. Her artsy poses make the nude selfies of Miley Cyrus, Kim Kardashian and Christina Aguilera look amateur.
The actress, who played the role of bisexual killer Catherine Trammel, was noticed by moviegoers when she opened her legs in "Basic Instinct" to reveal she was wearing nothing underneath her mini skirt. Her getting the part in the film that starred Michael Douglas disproved critics of Stone who said she was not sexy and would not get film jobs after she posed for men's magazine Playboy in 1990 when she was 32, reports Aceshowbiz.
Sharon's enviable body actually was not in shape after she suffered a stroke in 2001. She suffered from brain aneurysm and took two years to recover. The actress had to learn how to walk and talk again. She describes the experience as like having her entire DNA changed which altered her body type and even her food allergies but did wonder to her emotional intelligence.
"Now I'm stronger. And I can be abrasively direct. That scares people, but I think that's not my problem," Stone says.
She told Access Hollywood that what happened to her then was a fluke and not caused by a medical condition. However, her marriage to journalist Phil Bronstein collapsed, and she lost custody of her son although she has visitation rights.
Despite her recovery and trim physique, Sharon admits not going out on dates because people are intimidated by the fact that she is a celebrity.
