Panamanian club CD Árabe Unido is scheduled to face top MLS team DC United at their home field of Estadio Maracaná in Panama City on Wednesday. The match is part of the group elimination round of the 2015-2016 CONCACAF Champions League tournament.
El Expreso Azul blanked Jamaican Squad Montego Bay United in their tourney opener last August 5, 3-0, also at the Estadio Maracaná. Midfielder José González and forwards Renán Addles and Enrico Small provided the goals for the Liga Panameña de Fútbol side, via the CCL website.
The match would be DCU's opener in this annual CONCACAF competitions and will be coming in as heavy favorites to capture top spot in Group H. The top teams in all eight groups after the eliminations will advance in the knockout stage.
United's last match was an MLS regular season loss versus New York City FC, 1-3. Although the game was on the road for United, it was still an upset win for NYCFC as they defeated the current MLS league leaders.
Resident striker Chris Rolfe put the Black and Red on top in the 36th-minute and the game was tied 1-1 until the 80th when NYCFC's David Villa and Kwadwo Poku scored two consecutive goals within minutes, as reported by the MLS official website.
The predicted result is a high-scoring 4-2 win by DCU over the Blue Express. United is not the best MLS team for nothing.
