Associated Press reports that besides arresting Davenport, the police also filed second-degree murder charges against him. Hines had stab wounds on the chest when found in front of her apartment building in Upper Manhattan. The wounds led to speculations that it was a ritual sacrifice since Davenport is being linked to the group Illuminati.

Davenport, who had a history of mental ailment, having once checked into a mental hospital, is detained at the psych ward of the New York-Presbyterian hospital.  When he allegedly stabbed Hines 16 times on the chest in Washington Heights on Sunday morning, Davenport was screaming, "Get out, devils" and "Jesus Christ is born," quotes the New York Post.

Prior to the attack, Davenport and Hines were photographed running errands in Memphis, Tennessee, by shopping in the grocery and dropping by the post office. When Hines got a major role in the indie film "Landing Up," the two - who are New York University graduates - returned to New York from Memphis in April.

Part of the stress on Davenport was the need to financially support his mother and sisters in Pennsylvania and his three children from two other women. Davenport is separated from wife Myrna Colley Lee who even helped Davenport and Hines get the apartment on West 162 because Myrna is a friend of the house owner.

He too was an actor, but played bit roles on TV like Jennifer Lopez's drama "Shades of Blue." A friend described Davenport as always working to earn money for the people he was supporting.
