China's Badminton Team dominated the 2015 Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from Aug. 10-16, garnering three gold medals in men's singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.
Chen Long defended his men's singles title, defeating Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei in straight sets, 21-14 and 21-17 in the final. Chen also won the gold in the 2014 World Championships in Copenhagen and the bronze in the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games, both for men's singles.
"I am really happy to be able to defend my title. It has been very difficult for China's men's singles as we failed to win titles for a long time. I played very well today and I am happy to be the champion here," Chen said.
Lee has consistently lost in previous World Championships finals in 2014, 2013 and 2011. In 2014, he also lost to Chen in the finals, but he lost his silver medal following a doping incident.
