Speculations on the Generation VI Pokemon Zygarde heightened with the release of the Pokemon XY movie special "Mega Evolution IV" trailer.
The 30-second trailer featured fierce Pokemon, such as Mega-Charizard X, Mega-Venusaur, Mega-Bannette, Mega-Alakazam, and Mega-Houndoom. An interesting find in the trailer are the green blob Pokemon, along with the Kalos grass-type starter Pokemon Chespin. No information has been revealed on these freshly encountered tiny Pokemon, but rumors say that they are linked to Zygarde.
As Pokemon fans know, Zygarde is the third legendary Pokemon of the Kalos region, along with Xerneas and Yveltal. It has a serpent-like body with green, black, and white hexagonal pattern on it. According to iDigitalTimes, the hexagons on the blob-like creatures' body could be "shed fragments" of Zygarde's skin, which became alive and new Pokemon.
In the video game, Zygarde is a dragon-ground Pokemon found in the Terminus Cave. Its typing makes it weak to dragon and fairy type moves, along with its double weakness to ice type moves.
The trailer of the movie special also showed a silhouette of a never-before-seen creature, which is believed to be a new Pokemon form. Some fans speculate that the outline of the mystery Pokemon belongs to a Zygarde's mega-evolution, which could be a part of the movie's central plot. If this is true, Zygarde will be the second legendary Pokemon to have a mega-evolution, along with Mewtwo.
"Pokemon Z" is assumed as the sequel to its game predecessors "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y" in the Nintendo 3DS, which were released worldwide on Oct. 12, 2013. "Pokemon Z" is also presumed to center on Zygarde's story plot, along with the events involving its legendary counterparts Xerneas and Yveltal.
Following the debut of the "Mega Evolution IV" movie special could be the release of Pokemon Z. as per Movie Pilot, while there has been no confirmation from Nintendo nor from the Pokemon Company, some fans predict a possible change in the game's systems, along with possible new evolution mechanics, Pokemon types, regions, and new Pokemon.
The confirmation and release date for "Pokemon Z" are yet to be revealed.
