When the 2017 Mercedes Benz-AMG C63 S rolls out on September 15 at a Frankfurt car show, car enthusiasts would likely want to own one of these speed monsters. Thanks to its 503 hp engine, it only takes this upcoming luxury vehicle 3.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour.
With its public debut next month, the AMG C63 Coupe expands Mercedes Benz's C-Class Coup lineup with a twin-turbo punch, noted Automobilemag. Like the C63 sedan, the AMG Coupe offers buyers two options.
The standard C63 has 469 hp, 479 lb-ft of torque and is capable of moving the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. Its electronically limited top speed is 155 mph. The C63 S reaches 60 mph at 3.8 seconds, thanks to its 503 hp engine. Top speed is 180 mph.
It is not just a larger engine that differentiates the C63 models from the standard 2017 Mercedes-Benz C300 Coupe. Only the doors, roofs and trunks are the same for the two models, but otherwise, the C63 has fenders 2.5 inches wider in front and 2.6 inches wider at the back.
Other differentiating features include an AMG-specific body kit, a splitter, prominent rear diffuser, quartet of a parallelogram-shaped exhaust tips and contrasting black trunklid spoiler.
Carmagazine reports that the AMG C63 has four driving modes, ranging from Eco to Sport+, with an individual setting. The C63 S has a bonus Race mode.
Competitors of the AMG C63 Coupe include the Audi RS5, BMW M4, Cadillac AS-V coupe and Lexus RC F. The standard C63 would be priced at $70,000, while the C63 S would be in the range of $80,000. The two models would reach U.S. dealers in summer 2016.
