The Chinese telecommunications company Huawei has launched the Honor 7i in Beijing last week. It is the company’s flagship smartphone with rotating rear camera.
The rotating Sony 13-megapixel camera is attached by a hinge, allowing it to place on the back and shoot photos or flip over to offer the same quality of photos taken from the front. Honor 7i serves both as the rear and front camera, rotating up to degrees via a hinge to take good selfies.
The sapphire-protected lens has 13-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and Sony Exmor sensor with a 28mm wide-angle lens. The flash is also located near the pivoting module. The device phone supports Auto Exposure, Auto White Balance, Automatic Face Recognition and Auto Smile Shutter, according to International Business Times.
In addition, Honor 7i is the very first smartphone to feature a fingerprint sensor located on the side of the device instead on the home screen button that is normally seen of iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S5. However, Oppo is the first company to launch a smartphone with a rotating camera.
Honor 7i runs on Huawei EMUI 3.1 based on Android Lollipop 5.1. The device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 616 64-bit octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM with 32GB internal storage. It comes also with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage version. Both versions are supported by a microSDVX memory slot for storage expansion.
The 5.2-inch FHD LCD display of Honor 7i has a 1080p screen resolution, with 3000mAh battery. Users can choose from three colors: Gold, White, and Black and fitted a metal frame. Honor 7i also features GPS, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, and dual-SIM functionality.
Interested buyers can get the device starting at around $250. The device will be available in China starting on Sep. 1 and the company stated that it will be offered in 74 markets including United States, PC World reported.
