The ending scene of "Supernatural" Season 10 has set up the new storyline for hunters Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) in "Supernatural" Season 11. Executive producers Jeremy Carver and Andrew Dabb teased in an interview the issues that the Winchester brothers must face in the upcoming new season.
In an interview with Comic Book Resources at the 2015 Comic-Con, executive producer Jeremy Carver has revealed that the Darkness will be more of a global threat in "Supernatural" Season 11. Carver explained that the fans will be able to realize the Darkness' relatable story and unfinished business once it is fully understood what the Darkness is all about.
Carver has also confirmed in a MoviePilot report that "Supernatural" will go back to the original format of the show where Sam and Dean Winchester are impervious to conflict. The new season will have the Winchester brothers united in fighting their common target, which is the Darkness.
Meanwhile, "Supernatural" co-executive producer Andrew Dabb confirmed that Dean Winchester will face the consequences of killing Death (Julian Richings) in the finale episode of "Supernatural" Season 10. Dabb explained that Death's absence creates some issues particularly among souls and reapers.
Dabb further teased that the CW TV series will begin to explore on the Dean-Death storyline in the second episode until at least the first half of "Supernatural" Season 11. As for the character Rowena (Ruth Connell), the fans will continue to see Crowley's (Mark Sheppard) witch mother after gaining more power in the finale of "Supernatural" Season 10.
Dabb described Rowena as an interesting character because she was never the top dog in her witch career. "She was always someone who had to scheme and manipulate and survive by the skin of her teeth," Dabb added during the Comic Book Resources interview.
Dabb further teased that it would be interesting to see Rowena's next move in the upcoming new season after acquiring more power. In the "Supernatural" Season 10 finale, Rowena walked away victorious with the Book of the Damned on her hands after placing the vicious "Attack Dog Spell" on the angel Castiel (Misha Collins) with Crowley as his target.
"Supernatural" Season 11 is scheduled to return on Wednesday night, Oct. 7, on the CW Network.
