In "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 episode 1 titled "22,190 Days," which will air on The CW on Oct. 8, Lily Salvatore (Annie Wersching) and her minions are literally out for blood.
In a recent interview with TV Guide, "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 executive producer Caroline Dries said what she loves about Lily Salvatore is that it is not likely for her to "lift a finger on the show."
In The Vampire Diaries" season 7, Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) appears to be a bit of a mess. Somerhalder told the publication that his character does not get depressed but "he gets even or he gets drunk."
According to Dries, Wersching's "The Vampire Diaries" character has "a way of being manipulating and calculating" and she knows how to push her sons Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore's buttons.
"We'll see the brothers start to turn against each other," Dries explained. "But they'll catch on and Lily, as much as she loves her sons, has her own agenda, so she is a villain in that what she wants opposes what our heroes want."
Dries said that all Lily Salvatore wants in her mind is peace and she would love it if everybody would get along.
While the heretics left Stefan Salvatore and Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola) to pick up the pieces after eating their way through Mystic Falls, Damon Salvatore seems to want nothing to do with the heretics.
Meanwhile, "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 executive producer Julie Plec told Entertainment Weekly "We're actually picking up all over the place. We're picking up a little bit in the future. We're picking up a lot in the future."
Plec revealed that they are doing a little bit of a time shuffle as they launch into "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 with one timeline set very much in the future and the other timeline catching the viewers up to the events of "The Vampire Diaries" season 6's final scene.
