Telltale Games has finally given the public first access of its upcoming "Minecraft: Story Mode" at PAX Prime. And from the first hands-on demo, it's been confirmed that crafting, the main principle behind the game, will also be available in the narrative- and decision-driven title.
Now, new information suggests that crafting tables will be featured in the game, so that any gathered materials during the hero's adventure can be crafted into new items, VG 24/7 reported.
How this works is that the crafting for "Minecraft: Story Mode" mimics the way crafting has been known and loved in the original "Minecraft" game. Players will take the materials from their inventory and combine them accordingly to create the new item that they need.
"Minecraft: Story Mode" is predominantly a narrative-driven title. Telltale Games has yet to explicitly state how crafting will work to enhance this particular title. The crafting bit of the game may not be the only part of the "Minecraft: Story Mode" that mimics the original title. It appears that the feel of the game may actually be gunning for an appeal to "Minecraft" fans, PC World stated in a hands-on demo.
Given that "Minecraft' is already a world of its own right, there are some things that players who already know what to expect in a "Minecraft" world than those who don't. In some ways, this may be what sets "Minecraft: Story Mode" different from what Telltale Games fans may have cared for in other games from existing franchises.
If a player is not a total fan of "Minecraft," there may be references, inferences, jokes and jabs that one may miss for lack of prior knowledge. Still, this may not necessarily be a negative point to the game. Considering the fans base of "Minecraft" and how the story can be approached, there is still a way for it to get into gamers' attention, the same way that the original did.
Previously, the developer has also teased that "Minecraft: Story Mode" will allow players to choose the gender and skin color of the lead character in the game. Customization options have become more extensive, so that the player can customize Jesse's character to suit their wants in the game.
"Minecraft: Story Mode" is set to release later this 2015. It will be out on the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Mac. It will also be releasing to mobile devices, including the iOS, Android and Amazon Fire TV.
