Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be launched in September. Following Android 5.1.1 reports about Google's plan to skip the update and focus on Android 6.0 or Marshmallow, the rumors have proven to be true.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow mother company Google has not confirmed upcoming upgrades yet; however, sources are saying that LG and Samsung are struggling to work on it to keep pace with the latest in the tech department.
LG and Samsung mobile operating systems are mostly up to date with over-the-air (OTA) Android 5.1 Lollipop. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S6, on the other hand, are still using Android 5.1 Lollipop while Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Samsung Galaxy Note 5 are already using Android 5.1.1 Lollipop when it was released the previous month.
Samsung flagship series of G3, G4 and G2 and other series for LG and Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 are expected to introduce the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The mid-range devices of both companies are also rumored to have the update, NeuroGadget reported.
Google's Nexus series 5, 6 and 9 as well as Nexus Player are the only devices operating with the latest Android firmware for developer previews and currently on the third and final stage. Other brands like Lenovo, Motorola, HTC, Asus, and Sony are also expected to get the update, Android Pit reported.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come with system and battery performance upgrade, as well as, bug fixes. The new Android operating system will also bring forth Android Pay, Samsung pay support, app links, fingerprint scanner support, app permissions, and battery saver doze.
