"Criminal Minds" season 11 is set to return with Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler) as a new member of BAU. CBS has unveiled a trailer that gives a few major plot details like the presence of a mole in BAU and a controversial case facing the team.
The new trailer of the next season teases Hotch and reveals the team working on a very complicated case that requires them to deal with a criminal, who overpowers his victims quietly and then injects them.
The controversial case is in line with what showrunner Erica Messer had teased in an interview with TVLine. She said, "This UnSub does some, obviously, weird stuff to his victims, which includes painting their faces. And then we learn why he's doing it, because he himself has a really hard-to-look-at face."
Initially, CBS had hinted that BAU will pursue a serial murderer who has left some clue behind to show that it is someone dedicated to take revenge.
Furthermore, Hotch asserts that someone alerted the killer and there is an infiltrator in the BAU team, which leaves an important question as to who could be the spy.
The team is well known to raise suspicion against any old member. The only possibility is that the mole could be a new member in BAU, who is none other than forensic psychologist Dr. Tara Lewis.
There are rumors that one member of the team will be exiting the show, and most likely the mole will be asked to leave.
In the trailer, Dr. Tara Lewis has come in to replace Jennifer Jareau (AJ Cook). In the event of helping the team solve a twisted case, she explains why she decided to join the team.
"Criminal Minds" season 11 debuts on Sept. 30 on CBS at 9 p.m.
