TNT's "The Last Ship" wrapped up its Season 2 on Sept. 6, 2015. Several media outlets are speculating that "The Last Ship" Season 3 would premiere in the mid of the year 2016. Fans must note that these are mere speculations and exact airdate is yet to be announced. According to Cartermatt, "The Last Ship" Season 3 is expected to premiere sometime in the summer of 2016.
Meanwhile, considering the schedule of its previous two seasons, Bustle hypothesizes that the new season of the post-apocalyptic series based on William Brinkley's novel may premiere in late June, 2016.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, "The Last Ship" showrunner revealed what fans can expect in Season 3. According to the co-creator Hank Steinberg, the next instalment will be about "moving forward, now attending to the task of rebuilding America and putting the world back in order."
Fans can expect the team to deal with lots of new challenges in "The Last Ship" Season 3. "When we come back in season three, we'll be coming back to very much a work in progress with lots of problems and, of course, new enemies and new issues, new complications and all those things," Steinberg elaborated.
The showrunner refrained from revealing any specific details about "The Last Ship" Season 3, leaving plenty of room for speculations. "Season three is going to expand again into the wider world, which is going to be an exciting new palette and widen the scope of the show even more," Steinberg said.
