The UK release date of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has been confirmed. The film will open on Dec.17, a day ahead of US release.
The official UK release date of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has been confirmed on official Star Wars Facebook UK page. The caption of the Facebook post reads as, "100 days to the Force Awakens."
The film has been set 30 years after the "Return of the Jedi" and will follow new characters including Finn, Rey and Poe Dameron. The official plot details of the film are being kept under the wraps. The film has been largely shot in Abu Dhabi and Ireland.
The film is directed by JJ Abrams and he told AP that most of the film has been shot with real sets. "A lot of artists on that side of things were building things not with pixels but with wood and paint and foam and actually constructing sets that we could have done in post. It gave the actors the actual location, the actual sunlight or stage light."
The film will also see the return of some of the pivotal characters including Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill)
Meanwhile, when the film hit the theaters, the audience will get the opportunity to watch the film with special 3D glasses which will similar design to the glasses worn by Stromtropper, Kylo Ren, BB-8, Captain Phasma, Collider reported.
Abrams has also written the screenplay of the film with Lawrence Kasdan and has produced it with Bryan Burk and Kathleen Kennedy.
