David Mueller, a DJ with KYGO radio in Denver, filed a lawsuit against Taylor Swift on Thursday with the U.S. District Court. He sued after he was fired from his job after being accused of touching Taylor Swift's butt during a post-concert photo session on June 2 at the Pepsi Center.
KYGO fired Mueller two days after the alleged incident. However, the DJ denies touching Taylor inappropriately. But according to the publicist of Taylor, they gave evidence to the radio station of the incident and the decision to terminate was KYGO's, reports USA Today. However, the publicist did not give details on what evidence they presented that caused Mueller to lose his $175,000-a-year 20-year job.
CNN reports that Mueller, who goes by the DJ name "Jackson," came to Taylor's concert meet-and-greet with his girlfriend and co-worker Shannon Melcher. Being in the backstage event was part of Mueller's job as a DJ which has allowed him to rub elbows with many celebrities.
Swift complained that when Mueller and Melcher had their picture taken with her, the DJ used his hands to lift her skirt and grabbed her behind. The pair were removed from Pepsi Center by the singer's security. After several phone calls between Taylor's management team and KYGO, Mueller lost his job.
In the lawsuit, Mueller denied the accusation which he called nonsense. He pointed out that Taylor's skirt was in place and not lifted by his hand in the group photo taken by the singer's photographer. The DJ said someone else probably did it.
He points out that Taylor is smiling in the photo and hugging Melcher. His hand was behind the singer and not visible in the picture, but her skirt was not lifted up. He added Taylor's hand was behind him and also not visible.
In August, she was also attacked by two male fans in Edmonton, but her security were quick to the rescue.
