The tech company Sony is now rolling out Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update (build number 14.6.A.0.368) for Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact.
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is available in some countries for now, according to XperiaBlog. It means that it will take some time until all devices will get the Android update.
It is important to note that Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is all about bug fixes, therefore, users should not expect any new features to be included in this update. However, the update provides a complete fix for the Stagefright exploit.
Users should keep an eye out for the over-the-air update notification or check out the company's PC Companion software to see if a manual download is available.
The new update brings SmartWear integration, camera improvements and enhanced enterprise support.
Furthermore, the company has begun rolling out the same update to Xperia Z series via over-the-air.
According to several reports, Sony has rolled out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z Wi-Fi, Xperia Tablet Z LTE, Xperia Z and Xperia ZR.
However, reports suggest that the StageFright secuity vulnerability has not been patched by the tech company in the update. But, last week, Sony had rolled out the new Lollipop update with Stagefright bug-fix to Xperia T2 Ultra smartphone.
After updating its latest flagships, the tech company has said that its M2 Aqua and M2 are next in queue for the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update; however, a time frame has not been given.
