Several people are gathering in the open streets of Central City to celebrate and thank the Scarlet Speedster for saving them from the singularity that nearly destroyed the city during the season 1 finale. All is well until an uninvited guest appeared to the crowd in the form of Albert Rothstein/Atom Smasher (Adam "Edge" Copeland). A confrontation between the two will likely happen as next photos shows Barry lying in bed in S.T.A.R. Labs hinting that he was defeated by Atom Smasher.

Other images also featured other returing characters in the show such as Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), Caitlin Snon (Danielle Panabaker), Iris West (Candice Patton), Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell), Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber), Captain Cold (Wensworth Miller), Heatwave (Dominic Purcell) and most likely, the real Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanaugh).

Executive Producer Gabrielle Stanton stated that Harrison Wells in the show will not be Eobard Thawn/Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher), but a separate person from another timeline or world since the show's theme this season will focus on other alternate earths.

In other news, a new theory regarding the identity of the show's new antagonist, Zoom (Tony Todd) has been revealed.

Zoom in "The Flash" season 2 has been described as a "speed demon" and a dangerous threat to Barry. His identity is still a mystery as the latest promo revealed that several supervillains including Atom Smasher were working with him to kill the Flash in exchange for sending them back to their respected worlds and only mentioned him by name.

Two characters were hinted to be Zoom in season 2: Edward Clariss/The Rival and "Future" Barry Allen, but a new theory suggest that the identity of these new villain could someone close to Barry and his allies.

The theory stated that Iris West's deceased boyfriend Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett) could be Zoom since showrunner Greg Berlanti stated that Zoom is the show's Darth Vader, were in Todd will provide the voice and another person will do his physical actions, Screenrant reported.

Zoom's real identity in the comics, Hunter Zolomon was a police detective similar to Eddie and both men have suffered tragic outcomes. Hunter's legs were paralyzed, while Eddie killed himself to destroy Reverse-Flash and his corpse was sucked in the singularity. It is hinted that Eddie's body will be transformed in the singularity and might grant him powers.

"The Flash" season 2 will premiere on Oct. 7 on the CW Network.
