South Korean tech giant LG Electronics plans to unveil its mid-range smartphone with a metal body on Sept. 21, Monday.
The upcoming mid-range smartphone is called LG Class with a codename H740. The device will have LG's signature back-mounted buttons (rear power and volume rocker) with a blockier design. The image of the device was spotted in a benchmark listing and LG posted a teaser image of it via Facebook with a tagline, "Something New.” The teaser image features different design compared to the flagships LG G3 or even LG G4, NDTV Gadgets reported.
LG Class will sports a 5.7-inch full-HD display with 1080 x 1920 pixels of screen resolution. It will run under Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It comes with a 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage storage that can be expanded via microSD. The device is also featuring accelerometer, compass, and pedometer sensors.
There will be a 12MP rear-facing camera with LED flash and full-HD video recording support, and a 5MP front-facing camera. LG Class will also have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC support, and GPS. It is said that the upcoming device will cost around $342, but there is no statement if it will be sold globally, according to GSM Arena.
Aside from LG’s Sept. 21 event, the South Korean tech giant will hold an event on Oct. 1 in New York to the much-rumoured V10 smartphone. Rumors said that it will feature an 'auxiliary ticker display' that can be seen on Samsung Continuum smartphone that was launched in 2010.
