It has been only a couple of weeks since Apple Inc. launched its iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, but rumors surfaced that the company has already working on their latest gadget the iPhone 7 and expected to be launched on September 2016.
Rumors stated that the Cupertino-based tech giant it has started placing its orders of iPhone 7 parts and the mass production of A10 chip (SoC) might start on March 2016. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) obtained the exclusive supply contract for the A10 chip, which will be a 16nm part. Either Sept. 9 or Sept. 16, 2016 (both Tuesdays) are highly possible dates for the launch of iPhone 7, according to iDigitalTimes.
The upcoming device will be thinner compared to iPod Touch, with a size of between 6.0mm and 6.5mm. It is also expected that it will be equipped with a lot more features and unique design than its predecessors, the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. The company is also rumored to switch from in-cell technology to fully laminated G/G technology, along with Asahi Glass.
Allegedly, iPhone 7 may feature a pre-installed iOS 10, which is expected to launched at WWDC in June 2016. It may also have a waterproof protection feature. The company may possibly coat electronic components inside the iPhone in a protective waterproof material that would prevent them from getting damaged should water find its way in.
The device may also feature a non-traditional SIM called e-SIM, an electronic SIM card that would be virtually embedded on the iPhone 7, PC Advisor reported. e-SIM makes it easier for the user to switch mobile carriers and flexible roaming. A reversible USB charger with lightning connector on one end is also expected to launch.
iPhone 7 comes in four colors: Gold, Rose Gold, Space Grey and Silver. It comes with 12Mp iSight camera, which features 400 ppi screen resolution. the device will be equipped with 2GB of RAM. As for the processor, it is expected that it will sport a A10 processor and embedded M10 motion co-processor.
