With Apple Wearable functionality, style, and availability options all expected to improve, there is a great opportunity that the Apple's new watch will soon undergo a dramatic uplift in terms of sales. The increase in sales may be attributed to the busy holiday shopping season that is fast approaching.
While a quick rundown of Apple Watch sales indicates that everything is in order, a basic concern is whether the wearable so far is a success or an embarrassing failure that will inevitably come in the same way as the iPod Hi-Fi. Reactions to such a concern are bound to vary give Apple has not yet revealed specific sales figures for the wearable.
In an interview with BGR to talk about the company's earnings report, Tim Cook pointed out that Apple Watch sales have "Exceeded expectations." He added that early sales for the wearable, though not as high, were fast enough to outpace both the iPhone and the iPad sales.
Cook explained, "Through the end of the quarter, the Apple Watch sell-through was higher than the comparable launch periods of the original iPhone or the original iPad. And we were able to do that with having only 680 points of sale."
Projections indicate that Apple Watch availability is poised to skyrocket because from next week, the wearable will be available for purchase from Sprint and T-Mobile outlets. Furthermore, Best Buy revealed last summer that the watch will be found in 200 stores before the 2015 holiday purchase season sets in.
The company is also planning to expand Apple Watch availability globally, with the addition of a number of new authorized retailers in Australia and Europe.
With the impending launch of watch OS 2, new watchbands, and great new associations with luxury brands such as Hermes, the wearable will most likely increase in sales.
