Ariana Grande surprised her fans when she ditched her trademark ponytail extensions to let her natural hair down for a rare occasion.
The singer took to Instagram to upload collage of four different selfies in which she is showing off her natural curly locks which were done up in a side-part style with two braids keeping the hair out of her face.
"Peekaboo healthy curls, long time no see," wrote the 22-year-old to caption the pic.
Grande usually dons hair extension to such an extent that they have become the part of her persona. The singer often has to face the heat of her fans and fashion critics who slam her for wearing the same style over and over again.
The singer had earlier explained via a lengthy post on Instagram that after four years of dying her hair red to play Cat Valentine on "Victorious" and "Sam & Cat," her tresses were "completely destroyed," E! News reported.
The singer also explained the reason of her always sporting a ponytail by mentioning that her natural hair is so damaged that it looks absolutely "ratchet and absurd" when she let it down. It was even rumored that she is always sporting extensions as she is going bald, Hollywood Take reported.
This is for the first time in the few years that Grande is seen with her natural hair, free from any fake extension. Going by the pics, it appears that her hair is almost back to being healthy and luscious and she is likely to be sporting them on stage as well.
