"Hotel Transylvania 2" is an upcoming 3D computer-animated fantasy comedy film. The film is the sequel to the 2012 film "Hotel Transylvania."
"Hotel Transylvania 2" takes place seven years after the first film, where the worlds of devils and humans came together with Johny and Mavis married and having an adorable son named Dennis. Now the hotel is now open to human guests. Dennis' lack of any vampire abilities worries his grandfather Dracula.
Dracula along with his monster pals Frank, Murray, Wayne and Griffin plan to bring out the monster in his half human, half vampire grandson. When Mavis and Johnny go on a visit to Johnny's parents Dracula's father, Vlad visits the estranged son, he has not met for long- time and change the course of action.
The voices from the first film-Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Steve Buscemi, David Spade, Fran Drescher, Molly Shannon-will return for the sequel, with Keegan-Michael Key replacing CeeLo Green as Murray.
New additions to the cast include Mel Brooks as Count Dracula's father, Vlad; Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally as Jonathan's parents, Mike and Linda; and Asher Blinkoff as Mavis and Johnny's half-human/half-vampire son, Dennis.
Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, and written by Robert Smigel. Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, the film is animated by Sony Pictures Imageworks, with an additional funding provided by LStar Capital.
The movie is enjoyable, the winning edge of this movie is the charisma of little Dennis played by Blinkoff. Dennis is super cute and could charm anybody who watches him. The 3D presentation is worth watching particularly during the flying sequences. There is plenty of fun and cuteness for the entire family.
Critical reception has been very positive so far. As of this writing, Rotten Tomatoes has given "Hotel Transylvania 2" a rating of 4.5/5. It is said that 96 percent of the viewers want to watch it, based on 63,641 user ratings.
Another review aggregator The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) has given the "Hotel Transylvania 2" rating of 7.9/10 from 163 users.
With the running time of 89 minutes, the "Hotel Transylvania 2" is rated PG for some scary images, action, and rude humor. The film is scheduled to be released on Sept. 25 by Columbia Pictures.
